Happy Pink Saturday

I am actually posting on Friday which is my birthday! Today was the most wonderful sunny warm and breezy day! I had breakfast with friends and then hubbie took the afternoon off. We went to a local antique store and I found 2 cute aprons and a button necklace. I will have to snap photos of those to share. I had so happy birthday's in my inbox on facebook - it was wonderful. Then, this afternoon I was surprised by the lovely Patti at Structured Chaos with (drum roll please) MY VERY FIRST BLOG AWARD!!!! I am so giddy with excitement!! It even fits with PS!

This is a photo from last week's Minnie the Mini Cooper's 50th Birthday. The storm came and made us all go in - so we did not get to play bocce ball. My 40 list has gone pretty well. I finished most everything and changed a few to make it easier. It was harder than I thought.

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Pink Saturday! Thanks for visiting and please visit Beverly (who does a fab job) and all the other Pinkies.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend. We are having a 50th Birthday party for the Mini Cooper tonight. I know crazy, but it is really a fun reason to think of everything mini for an event. We have been doing more entertaining at home and it has become a lot of fun. I got bocce ball and are going to play that with mini golf, have mini sandwiches, etc. Which will also cross off a few things on the birthday to do list.

Today's pink inspiration is the lovely flower at the mailbox. I made the mosaic edge a few years ago and would love to have it surrounding the whole garden. Thanks Beverly for another PS!Have a wonderful weekend.

Thrifty Tuesday

Here is the vintage bedroom set that I got an Estate sale this weekend. It has four pieces and was $60. Right now hubbie is not visioning it as a good buy. The good thing is it is going in Bella's room and my little mini boho is loving it. We are leaning toward an off white color. I love how people make shabby chic but not sure I can pull off the distressed look without looking used. There is such a trick to it or maybe I am just over thinking it.

Here is the side table…
We are off to get a new snail today. I need to see how long these guys are going to last - he did not do a very good cleaning job. Maybe we should get 2. So far the day has been spent letting the dogs in and out. I think this is their new game. Bark inside to go outside to bark outside. Silly girls. Tootles.

Cold Front

Here it is my birthday month and tonight the low will be in the 40's. Don't worry I brought the crop in. They are still so tiny and I am wondering how to get them stronger. Re-pot them?

Bella and I did some spring cleaning today since it was rainy and cool. This weekend I went to an estate sale and scored big with a vintage blond bedroom suite for Bella. I am wondering if we should paint it and if so what color? I was thinking off white and then I thought about black. Then I thought about natural. Too many thoughts, time to get ready for the week. Have a wonderful one.

Half way through Birthday Month!

The month is flying by! Progress is being made on my list - the weather on the weekends is causing me not to finish a few things. Maybe this weekend. Bella and I were outside on our estate - can you call a half acre an estate? - and found these lovely pretties. We love the birds that visit and found some seed for this bird feeder I got last year at Hobby Lobby. (Yes, honey that is bird seed in the outside fridge.) We had moths in our seed last year so I bought a smaller bag this year. We had visitors tonight enjoying it. We have about four nests on the estate (teehee) and have ever since we built 8 years ago. We have finches on the front porch behind the lamp and robins in two places and some kind of black bird in the eve of the roof.

While we were weeding we found this lovely visitor. I am sure Bella will name him on her blog.

There are only a few more weeks of school left and I can't believe my baby (Bella) is going to be going in the 6th grade. Time flies when you are having fun and we are having a blast. I can't wait until summer and mini me and I can get busy on some really fun ideas we have. Have a wonderful Friday!

Marvelous Monday

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. I got fab handmade gifts from Bella and a cute picture frame and a book for Bella to fill out for me. This month is zipping by and I am not sure I am ready for that. :-) Age is only a number and I need to cross somethings off my lists.

Bella decided she wanted to start a blog and this is her drawing from her first post. Stop in to the fuzzy snail and say hi and see what creativeness I have rubbed off on her.

Only a couple more weeks of school! Woohoo! May your week be filled with creativity!

Delightful Doily

I got this delight at a yard sale years ago. It is wonderful, but has a stain. I think this weekend I will dye it a darker color that will cover the stain to allow it to be used. Have a wonderful Friday!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

Had a great dinner at the local mexican cantina. Shared yummy fajitas with Bella. Then a relaxing evening on the porch with a fab breeze. I am changing some of my 40 list but still working on it. One thing I did today was stop and smell the roses and yelled moooo at a cow while driving by with the top down. :-) But while smelling the roses I am trying to figure out why all my roses are turning into these wild looking ones? Any suggestions?

Birthday Month still going strong!

What a nice weekend. Grouted my bird bath and now I just have to seal it.

It is a heavy sucker. My next project might have to be a bit smaller. Maybe a bird house.

Played a little mini golf. Hung out with some great friends. Crossed a few things off my 40 list. Had jammie Sunday! Yippie!! Here are the watermelons, Bella and I planted from seeds. We have other things growing I will share with you this week.

This weekend we should probably figure out where they are going in the yard. We have a slight problem called Zuzu (the beagle) - she really likes to dig. I have a perfect spot already cleared but can't figure out how to keep her out. Happy Monday!

Birthday Month

Woohoo… it's my birthday month. I know most people only take the day, well not me. I love to celebrate the whole month. It seems as long as I can remember I have celebrated it. Ohhh - maybe I will go see the new movie that comes out today - Ghost from Girlfriends Past.

Here are the pictures from my wonderful swap with Geralyn.

I really love everything in my fabulous green and pink case. I have been a giant fan of pink and green. Growing up my room was painted circus pink with sharp green trim. Another picture of the great goodies.

Oh and this lovely little Marie piece was in there. I have been admiring everyone's work on the Marie stuff and thinking I should have joined one and now I have my own!

Thanks Geralyn - You Rock!!
