Final 2009 Post

As the final hours of the day start to tick down, I will take this time to list my dreams for 2010 in my swell new journal book I got this week at Salon 864. - Becca has some of the coolest things in town!  I always love a good little book to jot my thoughts down in. I figure if they are in there, then maybe I won't forget what I thought would be a fab idea for 2010.

The rest of the day will be spent relaxing in my new comfy slippers, hanging with the little artchic painting our nails and reading my new magazine. Artchic hubby has errands! He is getting us dinner and a movie. YES - my final dining out experience for one month -due to my challenge. Oh which reminds, I forgot to get my menu planned. Funny how the computer and tv make us forget what we were going to do.

I wish all of you a safe and Happy New Year. We are not even leaving the comforts of home - bronchitis has us hanging with the furries. But hey ~ nothing beats being warm in your comfy shoes, painted nails and pearls ~ watching and listening to what ever we want ~ and not having to tip your waiter or drive home. Cheers and happy wishes for 2010. I will have a list for January 1, 2010 and it will be post #90!!

End of the Year and a New Challenge

Finally, 2009 is coming to a close. I would love to say I am really sad the year flew by so quick, but like most people I am ready for it to be done.  Being in Freelance Advertising is always an up and down battle, but this year was more down than up. I am ready for a fresh start and for some new opportunities to open up. Instead of looking back on what I did or did not do last year, I am going to look forward. Tomorrow, I will be posting my resolutions and what my dreams for 2010 are. What are yours?

Here is the first thing that will be new for us come January 1, 2010. My blog friend, Diana is having a great challenge - The Eat In Month Challenge! I am pretty excited about this for a couple of reasons -
#1 - I would like for us to start eating healthy
#2 - To save money (Yes, I know, I too thought it grew on trees)
#3 - Eating out is a challenge with a food allergic child
#4 - Just getting tired of the same places

I know this is going to be a tough challenge. Hubby are you on board? He likes to go out for lunch when he is at work. Not to mention I do love my McD's for a McMuffin. But, I can make them at home.  I did have to ask if we got a gift card for Christmas to a restaurant does that count? Now don't run out tomorrow and buy 30. :-) I'll let you know what she says. Better go check the pantry and get my Hungry Girl Cookbooks out and plan some meals.

Happy New Year's Eve Eve.

$5 Dinner Cookbook

I so want to win a copy of this book. I love her blog and hope in 2010 to use more of the recipes and cut our food budget way down. I am not really a fan of cooking and really enjoy taking the guess work out of it. If it where up to Bella and I we would eat frozen pizza and pasta every meal. But this year I really want to eat healthier and get on a real exercise plan. Nothing drastic just enough to make a difference for me. Hope you had a wonderful holiday. I will be uploading some of the fun we had later. Off to work on a new blog header that will be shown this week. Happy end of 2009!

It's time!

The year has flown by so fast. I know we are in a way happy since the economy has been so bad. But in a way we are rushing time. I do look forward to a new and fresh start with 2010.

I want to thank everyone who reads my blog. I am so glad to have all of you as my blog world friends. I am amazed at how we can connect with people we might otherwise never know. I have friends everywhere and I feel very blessed for that.

I am 14 posts away from 100. Whoohoo!! Maybe a few days I will have double the posting. I was hoping for a giveaway on New Years.

So what are your big plans for the holiday? Any traditions you do every year?

The Artchics wish you and yours a Happy Christmas and a Merry Holiday!!!

Happy Friday Everyone!

The month is flying by! Time to kick it in high gear. I have 2 more tiles to add to Art Fire. We are busy with the house holidayifaction and finishing up the annual Christmas card. Hubby thinks I should not take the easy predesigned route and so he hired me to do the cards. Wonder how much the pay is? I probably should have got a deposit up front. Teehee.

It has turned drastically cold here. Well below 60 is cold to me. It will only be 37. Wow, that is cold for me. Glad I have a lot of things to do inside today. The Children's Party is at the Museum tomorrow and I have to finish up all the felt trees we will be making. It is a cute and easy idea to do with tons of kids in varing ages. I will post pictures tomorrow.

Have a creative day and Happy Holidays!

Happy Pink Saturday!

Today, we are doing Pink Saturday a little different. We have themes along with our pink love. This week is to Childhood Memory about a holiday. Mine is when I was about 10 and Santa left his footprints on the fireplace. I could not believe he had come in left the gifts and made a little mess. I checked my Dad's show to see if it was him and the footprint was way to big. Maybe if I would have been up a little sooner I would have caught him, because he did not have time to clean his tracks.

I have finally opened my Art Fire shop! Whoohoo!! TheArtchics is the shop name. It was super easy to join and list. Not to mention all the great things I have heard about it. Here is my first listing a 6x5 tile!

Finally, here is my pink share for the week.... This is the one I did for the cabinet card swap. I get a great one from my partner and will share that as soon as I get the pictures!!

Have a wonderful weekend and stop in to Beverly's to visit everyone.

Did someone say rain?

Here we are again in the rainy South. Expecting two inches or more today. Thanks for all the kind comments on my treasures I shared. I am busy with the Mod Podge today. Got to do something to stay dry.

How was you Thanksgiving? I made the Crock Pot macaroni and cheese and instead of whole milk used 2% and also subbed the evaporate milk with rice milk. It was pretty good and cut the calories by a lot. I am happy to say pie does not tempt me. For some reason I just don't care much for it. Bella took pictures but we forgot to get the food spread. We did get a few table shots. My blog friend Diana has some great recipes on her site - check it out!

I am almost at 100 post! So i will be planning a blogaversary - stay tuned!! I must say I am just checking out the new blogger features and like what I see so far!

Have a wonderful dry day!!

Happy Pink Saturday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had my parents over and ate way too much as always. We started a new family tradition of playing Scrabble on Thanksgiving and now I am addicted again. Bella is really good, so I need to practice up.

I have been working on a few things for Christmas for gifts as well as listing in my etsy shop. Here is one tile I made and I love the colors pink!!
I love these! They are 5x6 and Bella and I are having a blast with them! We may have a house full of them by the time the holidays get here. I can not believe it is almost December. Wow really! I know we are ready for 2009 to be over and have a better 2010! I think I might hit my 100 post blogaversary right around Christmas. Stay tuned.

Thanks to Beverly for putting together Pink Saturday! Stop in and say hi to everyone. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

Surprise!

I am still here. Just fell off the blog wagon. I am excited to say I have some completed UFO's to show you tomorrow. Must take pictures in the am! Today, was a little cloudy and not very good!! I will be showing you a great swap I joined and the fabulous creator behind the goodies!

Since it is Thanksgiving week, I will post every day a thankfulness. Today, I am thankful for Bella being such a fab child. She was helping me muck out the studio. We did not get far - had to stop for a creative break! But, did manage to group a few things together. I know how I want the room in mind and it is no where near that in real life. Hum! I spend a lot of time second guessing where I want something and where I should put it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

I had to switch back to supervied comments since I was getting some spam ones. Silly spammers - get a life.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Wet Wednesday

Hello all. It has been a very rainy couple of days. Idamust be leaving her mark here. When I said I was going to start adding more water to my day this is not exactly what I had in mind. The addition of water is coming along nicely and the next big step will be eating better balanced meals. Which will mean less take out.

Have a dry and safe day. Happy Veteran's Day!

Wishful Wednesday

Jennifer is hosting another week. Make sure you pop in and visit everyone. Another week has come and gone. I am happy to say the sodas have been limited to 2 in the past week and that I am drinking more water. However, the leftover Halloween candy is so tempting. I think most of it will go to the school for the treat bucket. My friend and I are looking into Zumba classes.
So for the wishful part, take the time out of your day to let some know you love them! Yesterday, I realize how much more connected Bella and I are. We are alike in many ways, but yet we are not carbon copies. We love to be creative, love animals (most of them) are only children and share so many more traits. But, I had hoped I would never have to talk about the passing of a classmate with her as my Mom did. My heart and thoughts go out to the family who lost their daughter/sister and to the whole school family who will miss her as well. Everyone is very busy and we take the small things for granted and sometimes we turn small things into big ones that really should be left as small. Make sure your children know you love them everyday!

This weekend will be a busy creative weekend!! We are making Christmas ornaments for our pink tree! What are your weekend plans? Getting creative?

Happy Pink Saturday and Happy Halloween

Thank you Beverly for putting together another week of Pink Saturday. Please make sure you visit all the fabulousness over there. It looks like today might be a bit on the weak side. Not too much fun for the little trick or treat peeps!
This year my Camelia is blooming nicely. Could be that I remembered to give her some fertilizer. I have another one that has a million buds but have not opened. I was hoping to get some gardening in today, but it may only be replanting some Rose of Sharon seedlings that grew in the bed. We also have a few little maples trees we are growing from seed that are ready for Fall.We don't have any trees on our lot since our part of the neighborhood was built on the cow's side of an old farm. So, we collected these seeds on a walk around the neighborhood, planted them and this is where we are.

Have a wonderful day and don't eat too much candy!

Happy Hump Day!

Here we are another week down and I can say another room done. This weekend I helped Bella with her room. I have to get busy with redoing her furniture or else the Christmas tree won't fit in the Living Room, so we where cleaning out. We are down to scaling back the stuffed animals. That will not be an easy task since she is so like me with feelings. How do you choose which ones to go and which ones to stay? They all have memories, but some will be making new memories with a new home.
WW wise I have started drinking more water and limiting sodas to only one a week. I have also decided with couponing it is very difficult to eat healthy. They always have coupons for less than healthy foods. So we might just be able to save with the coupons but will not be able to get all the groceries for $4 like some people can. The other side to that is, I am not going to hoard stuff like most super savers do. That would defeat my weightloss clean out! I will keep a few items, but some have rooms full of the stuff. Can they use it before it goes bad?

Happy Halloween Week. Check out Jennifer's blog for the rest of the WW peeps!

Happy Pink Saturday!

These are my favorite pansies colors. I found these last year and hope to be so lucky again. So far all I found were orange and white. Good for Halloween but not my favorite pinks!! Last Saturday I forgot to sign up but my facebook friend Nancy featured me and I wanted to thank her again. So, if you haven't seen last Saturday please check it out. My Mingo is all ready for the holidays! And I would love glue suggestions for the cake plate I want to make!

Thanks Beverly for the fab job. Please remember to leave a comment so I know you stopped by and can visit you! I am getting closer to 100!! Yeah!!!

Wonderful Wednesday

Look at this three posts in a row! Whoohoo! Today, the wonderful Jennifer is having Weightloss Wednesday. The weight I have shed this week is the piles of crud in my office. I now it is not exactly what I was going for but, hey I am so counting it! I would show you before and after picts but I am blogging remotely and left my drive at home. Next stop - studio.

Please note the random photo. Don't like to post words only. This is my clematis and has been taken by the frost. It will come back next year!

Have a creative day! I will share some of my Christmas goodies I am working on tomorrow!! Yes, it is 2 months away and a plan should be made. :-) I say that every year, how about you?

This month's goal is to post to hit 100 post by Christmas and have a give away to celebrate.

Thrifty Tuesday

Check out this sweet crocheted hotpad I found the other day when Bella and I went junkin'. We were looking for a cabinet card for the Altered Cabinet Card Holiday Swap. Why is it when you need something you can't find it, but the minute you don't need it they are everywhere. I found one! Wow, not much decision to be made there. :-)
So what are you working on this week? Guess next week I should start thinking Christmas - it will only be 2 months away. Oh and Bella said ok to the all pink Christmas. We will see if we can get it together by then. Ohhhh, maybe a pink tree?!!!!??? Have a wonderful day!

Five Years Later

This is my dog Chanel. (Bella decided she needed to dress up for the picture that day.) She was our first dog. She joined Los and I on our 2nd anniversary and we had the pleasure of being loved by her for 11 years! She was a wonderful dog and the best friend. She ate a few of Carlos' shirts (he left gum in the pocket), chewed a few of my shoes, ate Bella's crayons, loved perfume, sat in a chair like a person, could say hohoho and was there for me always!

She got lung cancer and pasted very quickly five years ago. She is loved everyday, missed everyday and will be thought of everyday!

Happy Pink Saturday!

Hello pink lovers. Who can believe it is the middle of October? Wow, really? Time to start thinking about the holidays. Holy Pink Flamingo Batman! I started decorating the outside a little then we had constant (just about) rain. So, I decided to move to the inside. That is Mingo the Flamingo all ready for the trick or treat night.
This year I will try and talk Bella into an all pink Christmas. It is a hard sale to the child. :-) Here is another find when I went junkin' with my friend Brig. I want to glue the glass (whatever it is) on the bottom of the plate and make a cake stand. I just have to figure out the right glue. Any suggestions? Oh and the purse from last week has a tag inside that says Handmade in Hong Kong.
Thanks to Beverly for all her hard work. Today I am featured on Nancy's blog (in case you did not come from there)! Love her blog!!! So, thanks Nancy for showing me off. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Pink Saturday!!

Here is the fabulous beaded purse I found when junkin'!!! Love how cute it is. Check out the detail! I hope you are having a wonderful PINK SATURDAY! Thank you Beverly! I would love for you to leave a comment!!!! Please visit all the other ladies! Enjoy the pinkness!!

Pretty Petals

Surprise!! I did not wait a week to blog! This is my lovely violet that is blooming again! Yeah! I wanted to show you what I have been working on this week, but the wonderful camera battery needs charging! Why does that always happen? Now I will loose the light and tomorrow it will probably rain.

Wednesday Rocks

Here it is Wednesday again! It seems like time is just flying by. We started decorating for the holidays and got some new pansies for the pots. I can't wait until they bloom and I can get some shots of them.

Weightloss Wednesday is not making any progress. I am going to try another recipe from the Hungry Girl's Cookbook! Love those books and the recipes are pretty easy. However, this week I am happy to say I am gathering some stuff to put in a yard sale on Saturday. So, in a way that is loosing weight in the house and making space. The is a lot of space that needs to be made and we don't use the stuff anymore.

Hope your week is going great! Visit Jennifer and see how all the others are doing.

Welcome Wednesday

We are having the best weather this week. I walked last night and it was delightful. My goal is to walk at least 4 times a week and do wii FIT at least twice. Healthy eating this week was the turkey sausage I used in the sauce instead of hamburger. It was very good I might add. I have some whole wheat pasta to give a try. It is small things, but I am hoping over the long run it will pay off instead of the roller coaster eating I normally do. Visit Jennifer and see how everyone is doing. Have a wonderful day!

Thrifty Tuesday

I wanted to share one of the fabulous finds from my last weekend junkin' trip. It was a very wet weekend, but we ventured out to a few spots. I am saving a few pieces for Pink Saturday but here is a cute light switch plate that I hung in the powder room. Yes - it really is that blue. I always wanted a pink powder room but hubbie thinks we have enough pink already.
I also wanted to share my violets with you. I have always loved them and NEVER been able to get them to bloom... well come to find out I was not giving them enough sun. As soon as I relocated them to a sunnier spot viola - they are both blooming!!
Today, we have a wonderful sunny, cool day. I am heading out in a few to pick up my sweet one and will enjoy the temps with the Mini's top down!! Have a great fall day!

Hello Pink Saturday

Hello Pink Saturday. I wanted to share a wonderful piece I had received for a pink and green swap. I finally found a wonderful place in my studio for it. I love it! Have a wonderful Pink Saturday and please visit the all the wonderful pinkness with Beverly. Have a great day!

Tuesday Thinking

Hello blogland. It has been raining her for the last 4 days and might still today. I know we need it but I sure would have loved to have my rain barrel all ready for it. I could have collected a lot for the pansies I want to get this weekend. Those are the pansies from last year. Love them and the colorful pots. I need to remember to drill a hole in the bottom for drainage

I feel like it has been ages since I blogged. I have found so many wonderful blogs that I am thinking I will start having a share my favorite blog day! I was also thinking Flamingo Friday would be fun but wonder if everyone has as many as I do. :-) and Motivation Monday!

I have been sorting out some stuff in my studio, but not making a very big dent. We are having a neighborhood yard sale in a couple of weeks so maybe motivation will strike. I am cooking (I know shocking) a pork recipe I saw on Sandra Lee this weekend. I will let you know how it turns out. SO far it is 2 thumbs up on easy to prepare. One mixing bowl, measuring cup and spoons. Prep time was 5 minutes. I love my aprons but the whole cooking thing is not my cup of tea.

Oh before I go, I filled out an energy survey from Duke Power and received 6 energy saving lightbulbs today for FREE!!! Got to love FREE!

Have a wonderful day!

Weightloss Wednesday

It has been another week and so far my healthier eating is happening in very small changes. We finally picked our watermelon and so I have been enjoying that. I am still addicted to sweet tea, but did have water with breakfast - which was a Kashi GoLean waffle. Don't think I would recommend those - they taste like sawdust to me. Of course I am getting over the crud so a lot of things taste odd. I need to figure out a healthier side dish than instant mashed potatoes. They are so easy and so yummy, but must work on that. Check in with Jennifer and see how everyone else is doing.

I have been working in the studio a bit and hope to tackle some more this weekend. We are having a yard sale in Oct. so I am gathering my stuff. I can't believe the holidays are around the corner. Where has time gone. Have a wonderful week!

Weightloss Wednesday

My friend Jennifer at Rosey Little Things is having a blog along. She recently had a baby and is trying to get in shape. I decided to join, because I would like for my clothes to fit better, eat healthier and exercise more. I am also trying to eat healthy without spending a fortune. One of my weaknesses is eating out at restaurants and oh don't forget how I love pasta.

I have decided to set small weekly goals so I am not overwhelmed. I hope to walk 3 times a week at least. I have to find a walking buddy in the am since I find it lonely. I will rotate with the wii fit as well! I am also trying to give up candy bars.

If you want to join, just head over to Jennifers. Have a wonderful 09.09.09!

Happy Pink Saturday!

Hope everyone has had a wonderful summer. We are back in the swing of things with school. Bella is doing better with adjusting to Middle School than I am. :-) I always dread the end of vacation because I know she will be gone for most of the day and it won't be long until all the beautiful flowers will be as well. I guess next week we may go look at some pansies and mums. I wanted to try and plant a winter veggie garden but don't know what would grow here. Maybe my local home improvement store can help.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend!! Take care and be safe. Please make sure you stop by Beverly and visit all the other pinkers!! Thanks Beverly for the wonderful job you do! Enjoy your day!

Blog Along

My sweet friend Jennifer is having Weightloss Wednesdays. I have decided to join in to try and get better exercise habits and to eat healthier. Since the weather is so nice in the mornings I am trying to walk after I drop Bella off at school. I have also started making my own salad dressing and I must say it is pretty good.If you would like to join grab the button and drop by Jennifer's and she will add you to the list.

Wonderful Wednesday

What a beautiful day Hump Day is turning into. The weather is cooling off. I just hope our watermelons finish before it gets to chilly. I am thinking of trying some winter crops. We ran into a few issues with the summer crops:
• carrots don't get very long in clay soil
• slugs attacked my peppers
• watermelons are doing good - just picked one too soon. We tried it anyway!

I have received another award from my sweet friend Rose in England. Thank you Rose!!!

"This award is bestowed on to blogs that are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. deliver this award to six bloggers who must choose six more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."
My sweet six are:

Kathy - A Biit of Serendipity
Jennifer - Rosey Little Things
Dana - (she needs to get back to blogging!!)
Diana - The Chic Life
Bella - Fuzzy Snails

Today may be a two post day I have more to share but lunch is calling. Have a creative one!!

Thankful Tuesday

Today is going to be a great day. I started the day off with breakfast and a morning walk. Next, I am headed out to get new tires for Minnie. When I was little I had a big wheel and completely wore the tire flat and cracked it open. Well somethings haven't changed, except I did not crack it open. Apparently, it is important to keep your tire pressure checked to evenly wear your tires. Hum does the tire gauge come in pink?

Our watermelon patch is growing wonderfully and we think we are about one week from having delicious watermelons. Middle School is going well and small child seems to be adjusting nicely. The workload scares me some - there seems to be a lot more parent involvement with work May have to brush up on a few things, unless it is something computer or art related.

My tags and birds are in my local fav scrapbook store Creative Chaos and doing very well. I hope to have some new ones this week. Plus, I have so many wonderful ideas floating in my head!!

Have a wonderful day. Photos later in the day! Not only am I thankful for all the things above - I am thankful for each of you who read my blog. Thank you for being a part of my little creative world.

Welcome Weekend

We made it through the first week of middle school. I still can't believe my sweet little one is in 6th grade. Where did the time go?

We have 2 baby snails in the fish tank. Soon we will have to get a bigger tank. All the hermit crabs are doing great.

Our watermelons are about 2 weeks out from being ready. We have about 20 so far. We are looking into pumpkins today. Not sure if we plant them now if they would be ready for Halloween.

I sold two books on half.com. Not bad. There are a few more listed and as soon as I get in my studio to clean there will be more.

Hubbie is playing golf today, so it is a girls day!! Wonder what we will do.

Books, tags and More!

Finally, (horns blowing, balloons popping and flamingos clapping) I have started selling. It is a small step, but one I feel that is in the right direction. I have listed several of my book stash on half.com and have put a package of my tags on etsy. I hope to clear out enough stash to be able to get in my studio and be able to create.

I was awake last night or this morning shall I say, thinking of all the great ideas I have in my head. Hope they all make it to life. I must go work on a website, blog header and run a few errands. I will also be jazzing up my graphic/web design blog this weekend.

As promised here are our watermelons. I am not sure how big they will get. I must go find the pack.

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

Happy Tuesday!

What a busy weekend. My sweet little one turned 11 on Saturday! We celebrated with cup cakes, finding out her snail in the fish tank had a baby and then the Birthday Girl lost a tooth. Bella starts Middle School a week from today so we have been busy gathering the rest of the school supplies, starting the mountain of laundry and going through our stuff for an upcoming yard sale.

I listed some books I have on half.com - username - artzychic. I am making the jump to Art Fire and will be listing a few things on Esty. Hope all is going well. I will have pictures to add as soon as the camera battery charges.

I can't wait to show you the watermelons we have in our little patch in the back yard. We started them from seed and are very proud of how they are doing. One would have probably been very big but Zuzu decided to take it as a play toy. Hum. Next years garden is already being thought out with a nice fence around it.

Stay cool. It is another scorcher here in the South.

Holiday Tags

I have been working on these tags forever it seems. I designed them, had them professionally printed and then did nothing with them. Well this is their lucky week. When I went to take a photo we decided to have our afternoon thunderstorm, so I am hoping the colors are ok. The tag is pink with the holiday phrase and the scalloped circle is a lovely celery color. I love the color combo of pink and celery and teal and celery. I hope to have other sets photographed to show tomorrow. I will try scanning and see what happens. They will be in my etsy shop on Friday. I was thinking it was too early to start for the holidays, but we only have 4 months.Have a wonderful evening. I still have a few spaces in the Pay It Forward if you are interested!

Hello Pink Saturday!

We have taken a break to recharge. Hope you are having a great summer. Here is a wonderful site we saw in Destin....

We went to the Gulfarium! Very fun! Love this pink! Have a wonderful Pink Saturday and say hello to all the wonderful blogs.

We tie dyed on Friday and hope to show that to you on Saturday!! We get to rinse and wash - can't wait!!

Beach Daydreaming

I have been day dreaming about the beach for weeks now. Since I don't live as close as I would like, I decided to make a necklace with some of my beach trip finds. This piece is made with black recycled African glass, potato pearls, seashells and an ocean rock.

The first thing to be added to my Stash To Go Sale is my Quickutz handle, alphabets and dies. I enjoy it but don't use it and so I have decided to part with it. If anyone is interested in it, let me know and I can get a picture of it and let you know which alphabets and dies I have for it. I will be putting stuff on ebay on Tuesday, July 28.

I have another necklace to share tomorrow. The camera battery died and of course when it was ready I had lost daylight.

Time to Catch Up

Where to start? Let's see when I left off it was July 4th. Had lunch with my blog buddy Diana and her family. We dined at one of the local BBQ joints and it was fab! Check her blog out for the yummy pics of our food. Next time we meet we are going to a yarn store and hubbies can go to the local brewery.

This was our lovely quiet 4th meal. We shared the evening with a wonderful brat the hubby cooked on the grill and had lemonade and/or sweat tea with homegrown mint. Boy does that stuff spread. I have so many ideas for gardening next year. We spent the evening playing bocce ball on a much smaller scale than the directions say, but we still had a blast.

On the creative side I made an apron - forgot to take a photo. Now to tackle the studio to be able to make more. I am wanting to open an Art Fire shop this week as well as stock the etsy store. I have started a box of books/supplies to list on ebay as well.

Today, I want to share a yummy treat my friend made me for the holidays. It was a yummy chocolate bird nest. Love it and I didn't want to eat it until she said it would go bad if I did not. Yum and so pretty. It was wrapped in the pretty pink wrap!

Thanks to Beverly - please visit all the wonderful pink! Have a safe and happy 4th! A special thanks to all the people who serve our country and keep us safe. My heart goes out to you guys today and always!!

Happy Last Day of June!

Wow, this month flew by. I just realized it has been a whole month since my birthday. This summer Bella and I have been playing board games. I love board games! But, I have come to the conclusion I am better at Yahtzee on the Wii than in real life. We have a new one, Mancala - it is a pretty fun 2 player game. I am addicted to Bejeweled on Facebook, but can't figure it out. And to wrap up my game summary - I stink at Farm Town on Facebook. I think there should be a beach version with shopping. That one I might could do.

I have been knocking out some crocheted baby socks. These are for a local boutique and tomorrow I will get more socks for my etsy shop. The blanket in the background is one I made when Bella was a baby. I made her a blanket every month. Oh, how I miss those days.

I am also making the jump to Art Fire. So, I better get that creative groove on. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week. What are you plans for the 4th? I think we are on staycation.

Happy Friday!

Finally, I have made something. Whoohoo!! It is small, but at least I have the creative bug back. Where ever have you been? Here is my flower pin cushion.

I thought I would jump back in with something small. One reason is my studio is a giant disaster still. I have come to the realization, I have way more stuff than I should and will be having a decluttering sale. I am thinking I will try it on my blog and then take it to ebay and etsy! Anyone had luck with either?

Also, I want to share the new award I got from my blog friend Rose! Thanks Rose! It made me smile, too!

So here are my 6 people to send it to: (Actually all the blogs I read make me smile!)
Bella, Tonya, Kathy, Christine, Jennifer and Cheryl

Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy the sun and your family.

Hello Pink Saturday!

Just wanted to share my pink lilies with you. They have taken over the bed and need to be divided next year. I took this right before a hail storm.. But next year when I divide them - Yeah more pink wonderfulness. Hope everyone has a wonderful pink Saturday! Don't forget to visit the other participants' blogs and Beverly to see their Pink Saturday pics. Thanks for all of you that visit Bella and leave comments. She is having a lot of fun with her blog. I have exciting things in the works..... More on Saturday...

** Update - it's funny how when I have to do the PS post I go mind blank. Maybe it is writer's block. I forgot to mention I just got a the new book Sewing Green by Betz White. Love it and can't wait to make the Mini a sunshade. Got to drink some juice pouches. Also, got the book Garden Anywhere... I am hoping it has a special section for the people who have clay for yards. Thanks to the builder who scrapped off all the topsoil and left us with a lovely Carolina clay yard. I have seen people make pretty pots out of it.

For those dog families out there, I saw where if you go to the Rachel Ray site you can get a free sample of doggie food. Free is always good and if you don't want or need it them please donate the sample to your local animal shelter or one of the wonderful organizations that fosters animals until they have a good home. I will try and get the addie to our local one that is in desperate need of help. Have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

New Blog Header

Well, I am still working on my list of 40 things! I finally finished my new blog header! I made the little chip board birds and will be putting them finally in my etsy shop this weekend. They must be photographed and I have to figure out if they should be in singles or as a family of a few.

I am thinking about putting in a backyard beach. I would so love to be ocean front 24/7 or at least only a few blocks away. I would enjoy a lovely pink beach house, pink beach cruiser bike and just to sit and make seashell trinkets all day. Oh to dream.

Happy Pink Saturday & a game

Welcome June and Summer break! It seems like the month of May flew by.I am very excited that school is out - maybe I can catch up now. I have been a little slow in answering emails and getting things done that I have planned. A birthday month was great but boy did I get swept away with all the excitement.
Thanks to everyone who has visited Bella's blog - www.fuzzysnails.blogpost.com! We enjoy reading all the comments and she is having a ball with it. And thank you to everyone who visits the artchics! I have made many wonderful blog friends - some of which I so need to catch up with. One of my blog buddies - Rose tagged me in a game - so here we go

You need to follow these rules:

  1. pick 6 unimportant things you love
  2. mention & link to the person who tagged you
  3. tag 6 of your favorite bloggers to play along
(don't forget to comment on their blog to let them know they've been tagged!)
My six would have to be
1. pink flamingos
2. the smell of roses and gardinias
3. a beautiful blue sky with clouds that make animals
4. seashells
5. sitting on the beach just daydreaming while gazing at the ocean
6. sunrise on the ocean

I am tagging - Bella, Tonya, Geralyn, Jennifer, Kathy and Irma!

Have a wonderful Pink Saturday!
